Tuesdays
11.30am – 1.00pm |
This is a
combined clinic with access to
our Health Visitor, Practice
Nurse and Doctor.
The clinic is for well babies
only. If your baby is unwell,
please make an appointment in
the usual way. We ask this to
reduce the chances of the well
clinic babies catching acute
infections.
The community
midwife attached to the practice
is Helen Breakell. Helen
attends the surgery on a Friday
morning from 9am to conduct the
antenatal clinic. The community
midwifery service is organised
geographically; Helen Breakell
covers the Plungington area of
Preston.
Following confirmation of your
pregnancy you need to make an
appointment with one of the
practice doctors. Following this
appointment you will be referred
to the Sharoe Green Maternity
Unit at Royal Preston Hospital
for booking and scan.

Our practice nurses
undertake regular review of all
diabetic patients in the practice.
Our diabetic patients are sent
letters 1-2 weeks prior to their
clinic appointment, inviting them to
attend one of the local blood
clinics for blood tests before their
review appointment.
We offer a complete
range of family planning services
and are able to issue free supplies
of condoms.
All doctors are able to advise on
use of the pill, mini-pill and
injection and refer for
sterilisation.
Our Practice Nurse monitors repeat
contraceptive injection and pill
requests.
Doctor Angela Robb, Doctor Lorna
Taylor and Doctor Helen Levycky have
expertise in:
- Coil
fitting
-
Implant insertion and
removal
-
Diaphragm and Cervical
Cap fitting
Emergency Contraception
This service is for
people who have not been
properly protected
during sex and who may
need additional help to
prevent an unwanted
pregnancy. We can
provide the “morning
after pill” and use of
the coil to suitable
patients. It is
essential you contact
the surgery as soon as
possible after a
contraceptive accident,
as these methods are
very effective if used
immediately but much
less effective as time
elapses.
Some of our medical
staff are unable to
provide this service and
it would be of great
help if you informed our
reception staff that you
need emergency
contraception, when
making your request to
book an appointment.
