Minor Ailment Scheme

You may be able to receive free NHS treatment for the minor ailments listed below form your local pharmacy without having to see a doctor:

  • Athlete's foot
  • Cold sores
  • Constipation
  • Coughs, colds, fever
  • Cystitis
  • Dermatitis
  • Diarrhea
  • Earache/minor infection
  • Hayfever (allergic Rhinitis)
  • Eye infection (bacterial)
  • Head lice
  • Headache
  • Indigestion/reflux
  • Insect bites and stings
  • Mouth ulcers
  • Nappy rash
  • Scabies
  • Sore throat
  • Teething
  • Thread worm
  • Thrush
  • Verruca’s/warts

You do not have to make an appointment with you GP or pharmacist you can go direct to the pharmacy and ask if you can be treated under the Pharmacy First Scheme.

If you do not pay for prescriptions, you will not pay for any medicines supplied through the scheme.
